Migration:
A Gallery is located just off the Historic Downtown Pedestrian
Mall in Charlottesville, Virginia in a comfortable, light filled
and modern space that creates the perfect environment for viewing
art. The Gallery also has an international presence by virtue
of its participation in juried gallery fairs.
Migration: A Gallery currently represents the work of
over 25 acclaimed contemporary artists from Virginia and across
the country in a variety of genres (figurative, abstract, landscape)
and mediums (prints, oil, acrylic, pastel, pencil, glass, photographs,
ceramic, jewelry, metal and more). We have selected artists
whose work has touched us deeply and we hope it will do the
same for you. The reputations and recognition of the artists
span many levels, from emerging artists to those who have gained
national or international recognition and have been included
in prominent museum and public collections. They are united
by their relationship to our mission, their talent, and the
fact that they are a delight to work with.
We provide for any interested parties the artists' biographical
materials, photos of current and past work, as well as articles
and current and past exhibition cards. The ability to present
any and all of these resources is an important part of our philosophy
of fostering your relationship with the art and these wonderful
artists.
OUR MISSION STATEMENT:
Creating, viewing and possessing beautiful, meaningful art takes
us on a transformative journey. This journey is why we chose
the name Migration: A Gallery.
Literally, like migratory animals, our lives involve travel,
the best of which leaves us with a lasting image of where we
have been and what we have learned. Figuratively, living with
a piece of art you love can take your soul on a journey away
from the hectic pace of modern life each time you see it and
leave you with a pleasant memory even when you are away from
home, or in a different home.
Migration: A Gallerys mission is to discover, promote
and place art which transforms the viewer through the works
exploration of our changing and evolving relationships with
nature, each other and our own souls. After all, navigating
these relationships are the real journeys of modern life.
We hope you enjoy our gallery.
